Subject: Website & Music
Gus,

Just wanted to commend you on the beautiful website...it's the first time I have actually sifted through the content and examined the site - great job!  Also, your writing style is quite captivating and your postings/features are relevant and enjoyable to read.

I am curious to know how much music you are creating these days?  Not sure if you got my email the other day, but my friend Sean and myself are spending the next eight months on the road, creating a film which we plan to submit to Banff Mountain Film Festival, and others.  The goal is to create an inspiring, yet contemplative film chronicling what we term 'an endurance-based lifestyle' (ie a lifestyle centred on the pursuit of activities such as Nordic skiing, cycling, and kayaking and their connection with not only the environment, but also with the search for inner balance and deep meaning).  We also want to jump-start the North American psyche into realizing that these sorts of pursuits are essentially life-altering, and that our current way of living is not optimal.  Basically, we want to affect a change in North American health behaviour, while at the same time promoting the merits of a life lived close to the land and one's own capacities.

In case you are wondering why I am telling you this, we are looking into possible music for the film and were wondering if you might be interested in helping us out somewhere down the line.  Post-production of the film won't begin for at least one year, but I thought I would let you know what I have been contemplating.  Of course, we will have no real idea about the sort of feel we would like for each 'scene', but I am positive that will reveal itself as the process moves forward.  I have heard some of your creations before, and liked what I heard.  I think it would be fun for a couple of independent artists to support each others work, what do you think?

Anyway, no rush getting back to me...we've got a lot of work ahead of ourselves on this end...talk to you soon,

Marty
