Sick of American Critics and Their Fashionable Views

Jonathan Yardley, in reviewing a new biography of e. e. cummings, takes two popular routes at once. First, he blasts the literati, and then he isolates American literature as something separate and almost superior to the literature from other nations. On page two he gets around to actually talking about the biography.
